Nicholas Schnicker, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Schnicker is an enthusiastic researcher and expert in the field of structural biology and protein biophysics. His aim is to help advance and facilitate structural research projects for groups across campus with various backgrounds. Dr. Schnicker has substantial experience in both executing experiments and developing approaches for studying a wide variety of protein targets, especially metalloproteins. With a background in both chemistry and protein biochemistry, Dr. Schnicker employs techniques such as cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography to visualize the three-dimensional structures of biomolecules to help understand fundamental biological processes. The collaborative research projects he contributes to hold immense promise for drug discovery, protein engineering, and the development of novel therapeutic interventions.
